To mitigate the increasing traffic problems in Hyderabad, the government has made another announcement regarding major infrastructure improvement that will be a six-lane flyover from Sagar Ring Road to Mandamallamma Junction. Initially, ₹410 crores was the estimated cost of this huge project that is going to be a great help in cutting down daily travel time and lessening the congestion across the important junctions for thousands of commuters.

The tendering process is already in motion. The last date for submission of bids by the companies is December 20 and the government will award the tender on December 22. The building process is supposed to start right away after the tender's awarding.

Reasons for the Need of This Highway

The continuous increase of traffic in Hyderabad has forced the occupants to open their way by building more flyovers and underpasses. The new flyover is a part of that goal directing towards improving the traffic flow regarding those important roads.

When the flyover gets opened:

✔ There will be less crowd at the Teegala Krishna Reddy Junction, Gayathri Nagar Junction, and Mandamallamma Junction

✔ The flow of travel between Uppal and Midhani will be quicker and smoother

✔ A big drop in the time that motorists spend traveling, from LB Nagar to Shamshabad Airport, Mahabubnagar, Nagar Kurnool, Srisailam, and Kurnool

✔ Major relief to Mirpet, Balapur, Badangpet, RCI, Jillelaguda, and LB Nagar

At present, all these locations experience severe congestion very often on account of Mandamallamma Junction and Gayatri Nagar Junction being so close together. The existence of three medical colleges next to Teegala Krishna Reddy Junction plays a role in the daily traffic jam, causing drivers from Saroor Nagar, Defense Colony, and Karmanghat to tanitiated.

The new bi-directional flyover will not only give each junction access but also ensure smooth traffic flow helping commuters.

Work to begin in a limited time: Surveys and Traffic Plans ongoing

Soil testing and GPR (Ground Position Reference) surveys are in full swing before the earthworks. The concerned authorities are doing the groundwork quickly so that large-scale construction will not be delayed due to the lack of preparatory work.

To reduce the disturbances caused by moving traffic during the building part, the engineering department has had talks with the city traffic police already regarding traffic diversion plans. The diversion announcement to the public is expected to come before the commencement of work.

This flyover will have a big impact on the infrastructures of Hyderabad, making travelling easy, less traffic jams, and better connections to millions of people living in the city.
