Telangana Weather Update: IMD Issues Red Alert for 3 Districts, Orange Alert for One

Three Telangana districts, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Mahabubabad, are under a red alert from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) due to very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall on Monday, August 18.
An orange alert has also been issued for Jayashankar Bhupalpally, with heavy to very heavy rainfall predicted in the area, according to the IMD bulletin that was made public on Sunday afternoon.
In isolated areas, heavy rainfall is anticipated in a number of other districts, including Adilabad, Hanumakonda, Kamareddy, Khammam, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Medak, Nirmal, Sangareddy, Suryapet, Vikarabad, and Warangal.
In Hyderabad and nearby areas, residents can expect light to moderate rain and thundershowers, with occasional intense spells accompanied by gusty winds reaching 30–40 kmph, the IMD said.
Authorities have urged citizens in the affected regions to remain cautious and follow safety advisories.
