Telangana is cybersecurity job hotspot: Indeed

Hyderabad: Recent data from Indeed, a global job matching and hiring platform, reveals that Telangana now accounts for the largest share of cybersecurity job postings in the country.

Employer demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals is robust nationwide, with cybersecurity job postings in India increasing by 34 per cent over the past three years (September 2022 to September 2025). This sustained demand has been met with a surge in job seeker interest, as the number of job seekers applying for cybersecurity-based job roles increased sharply by 404 per cent during the same period, indicating rising competition for roles in the sector.

Telangana tops cybersecurity hiring, ahead of Karnataka, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu, with demand centred on skills such as communication, NIST standards, information security, Python, and ISO 27001.

Sashi Kumar, Managing Director, Indeed India, said, “Hyderabad has built an ecosystem where cybersecurity isn’t an add-on but a part of how the city does tech. Telangana’s momentum in security hiring demonstrates that companies here are scaling rapidly while also building responsibly.
