T-Hub, Panasonic Partner For Innovation Challenge

Hyderabad: T-Hub, an innovation hub on Monday said it has partnered with Panasonic, a technology and solution developer, for Panasonic Innovation Challenge which will accelerate the commercialization of Panasonic’s Nessum High Definition – Power Line Communication (HD-PLC) technology in India.
Under the challenge, selected startups will pitch their solutions during a Demo Day at T-Hub in December 2024, for potential collaboration with Panasonic. Nessum HD-PLC, implemented in commercial and residential projects across Japan and Europe, is a solution for installing data communication over existing wires. Kotaro Matsuo, Chief Engineer - Marketing Manager, Panasonic Holdings, said: “As India emerges as a global innovation hub, we aim to create opportunities that benefit both Japanese and Indian technology companies by leveraging Panasonic’s Nessum Technology.”
Panasonic will leverage on T-Hub to identify Indian startup ecosystem partners for the adoption and commercialization of Nessum Technology. T-Hub will select startups and partners based on their alignment with Panasonic’s strategic goals, market potential, and readiness to scale with the company’s support, an official release from T-Hub mentioned.
Speaking about the technology, Manish Misra, Chief Innovation Officer, Panasonic Life Solutions India, said: “Nessum HD-PLC enables cost-effective data transfer over existing wired cables, particularly beneficial in challenging environments such as concrete or metal structures, underground spaces, tunnels, smart cities, elevators, and robotic machines where distant connectivity is crucial.”
Technologies such as Nessum HD-PLC are set to empower startups by driving innovation across a range of sectors, including smart spaces, IoT, industrial automation, and connected devices, said Mahankali Srinivas Rao (MSR), CEO of T-Hub, further adding that the collaboration with Panasonic opens new opportunities for Indian startups to access the North American and Japanese markets.
