Hyderabad: The T-Fiber initiative introduced by the Telangana government recently is all set to bring smiles on the faces of people as well as the students in remote areas as they will be able to connect with the world on high-speed broadband connection.

Through this initiative, the government is working to provide broadband connectivity to over 4 crore people, and also institutions – both private and government- in rural areas, covering all the 33 districts in the state. Initially, four villages of four separate districts in the state have been identified to connect them with a seamless internet connectivity on a pilot basis. These districts include Rangareddy, Peddapalli, Narayanpet and Sangareddy.

According to T-Fiber officials, measures to provide Broadband Internet, IPTV (FTA+HD Telugu), VoIP, VDI Solution and G2G & G2C services are put to play in four selected district to ensure that the rural people as well as the students get the digital mode of transmission on par with the urban people.

“T-Fiber took up a proof of concept (POC) initiative in December-2024 to connect 4,000 households spread across four villages such as Adavi Srirampur, Maddur, Sangupet and Hajipalle on a pilot basis. This is to validate its base network and understand the service delivery capabilities and requirements. Accordingly, work orders to three different Managed Service Providers have been issued,” stated PVenu Prasad, Managing Director T-Fiber.

While elaborating the concept of POC, he said, this approach ensures and improves the levels of learning in service delivery and helps understanding the complexities involved.
