Severe Storm Warning Issued for Hyderabad and Surrounding Areas

Thunderstorm activity is set to intensify across Telangana today as weather conditions become highly conducive for powerful storm development. Meteorologists report that blazing sunshine, elevated humidity levels, and a hazy atmosphere have created explosive atmospheric instability.

In the next two hours, scattered thunderstorms are expected across northern Telangana districts including Nirmal, Jagitial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Mancherial, and Kumuram Bheem-Asifabad.

By late afternoon, storm intensity is forecast to increase significantly, with central regions—including Hyderabad—likely to experience widespread thunderstorms into the evening. Initial dry conditions in Hyderabad are expected to shift, with heavy rainfall and thunderstorm activity likely from evening to midnight.

Meanwhile, southern Telangana is also beginning to see early storm development. Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool, and Nalgonda are expected to receive scattered intense rainfall within the next hour, escalating in strength and coverage through the afternoon.

Eastern and northern Telangana districts such as Mulugu, Jayashankar-Bhupalpally, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Hanumakonda, Siddipet, and Adilabad are also likely to see storm activity in the next three hours. Ongoing storms are already affecting parts of Nizamabad and Kamareddy.

A region-wide thunderstorm event is forecast across all zones—south, central, east, and north—by late afternoon. Districts including Suryapet, Yadadri, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Rangareddy, Medak, and Mahabubnagar should prepare for high-intensity storms, with peak activity anticipated between evening and midnight.
