Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the State government has earmarked Rs20,000 crore for the development of Hyderabad city over the next two years.

He noted that several initiatives under this funding have already been finalised, with many more currently underway. "Such a significant investment directed solely towards the development of Hyderabad is unprecedented in the annals of the state’s history," he remarked.

The Deputy Chief Minister made these comments as the chief guest at an event held in conjunction with the Credai Property Exhibition at HITEX on Friday. He revealed that Rs1,950.52 crore has been allocated within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) boundaries, together with Rs12,500 crore designated for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), and Rs4,365 crore for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA). He emphasized that Hyderabad is not only competing with other cities in India but also with prominent global urban centers in areas such as investment, skilled workforce, and quality of living.
