Multiple regions across Telangana, particularly the central, western, and southern districts, are likely to face intense thunderstorms beginning this evening and continuing through Wednesday morning, according to weather updates issued Tuesday.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected to begin developing in the afternoon, primarily in the central and western belts, extending into nighttime hours. Officials warned that the severity may increase by late evening, with storms intensifying across southern and central Telangana districts through the early morning.
In Hyderabad, the weather office has forecast scattered rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours. While today's activity is not expected to match the intensity of yesterday's extreme weather, moderate to heavy rainfall is anticipated overnight.
Meteorologists caution that high humidity levels and daytime heat may create favorable conditions for storm formation by afternoon. Localized heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and gusty winds may affect daily life in several areas, particularly in Mahabubnagar, Rangareddy, Medak, Sangareddy, Nalgonda, and parts of Hyderabad.
Emergency services have been placed on alert, and authorities have advised citizens to follow updates from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for timely alerts.
