Quack held in Hanamkonda; illegal drugs seized

Hanamkonda: The officials of Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana raided an illegal clinic run by an unqualified practitioner at Damera Village in Elkathurthi Mandal, and seized 30 varieties of medicines stocked without a licence. The clinic, operating as 'First Aid Clinic', was run by Swargam Sathish Babu, who was found practicing medicine without qualifications. Antibiotics and steroids were among the drugs seized, valued at Rs21,650. Officials warned that indiscriminate sale of antibiotics can lead to 'antimicrobial resistance, while misuse of steroids poses serious health risks. Samples were collected for analysis and legal action will follow.
