On Wednesday, two Osman Sagar floodgates were opened, allowing approximately 220 cubic meters of water to flow into the Musi River.

Residents along the Musi riverbanks were advised to take precautions by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), which has been keeping a careful eye on the rising water levels. Authorities warned residents to remain vigilant as the water flow is predicted to increase even more over the next few hours.

To protect the public, authorities are closely monitoring the inflows and outflows. Until the situation stabilizes, residents of low-lying areas near the Musi have been advised to use caution and refrain from going near the river.

After recent rains in the area, this precautionary release was done to control the water levels at Osman Sagar.
