The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has placed several districts in Telangana under an Orange Warning as heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected across parts of the state over the next few days.
According to IMD forecasts, widespread rain is likely between July 21 and 26, especially across eastern Telangana, where intense rainfall activity could lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas. The Orange Alert signals the potential for disruption due to heavy rain, urging residents and officials to stay prepared. The agency warns that continuous rain during this window may trigger moderate flooding in some districts.
Hyderabad is expected to experience moderate to heavy showers for the next six days, particularly from July 23 to 26, with dense cloud cover and cooler daytime temperatures.
The weathermen also flagged a flood threat in the Godavari region between July 27 and 30. Rising river levels and inflow surges could affect vulnerable zones.
