Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Monday inaugurated the renovated shrine dedicated to the tribal goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma, along with various other departmental works, at Medaram in Mulugu district. The Medaram temple is set to host the tribal festival 'Maha Jathara' from January 28 to 31. Accompanied by his family members, Cabinet Ministers and other elected representatives, the Chief Minister offered special prayers at the shrine, seeking the blessings of the goddesses. Following that, he participated in the unveiling of a new pylon at the temple. In a traditional ceremony, the Chief Minister was also weighed against jaggery, which is symbolically given as "gold" (bangaram) to the tribal deities during the biennial Medaram Jatara. When he arrived at the temple grounds with his family, they were greeted with lively tribal drum music. The event saw the participation of several Ministers, MLAs, and other elected officials.
