Mini Industrial Parks For Women Entrepreneurs Planned In Telangana
After rolling out the new Industrial MSME policy, the government is now working on sectoral policies - Life Sciences, Electric Mobility, Defence and Aerospace

Hyderabad: Growthof women entrepreneurs and women in the workforce in Telangana need the support of the State government. In this direction, the government rolled out the MSME policy and now, has plans to set up mini industrial parks for women entrepreneurs in 119 Assembly constituencies giving a boost to entrepreneurship in tier- 2 and 3 cities, said Telangana Minister for Industries D Sridhar Babu.
Delivering the inaugural address at the 20th edition of Man’Exe 2024, organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Telangana, in Hyderabad on Friday, Sridhar Babu, said that the newly implemented MSME policy has exclusive focus on encouraging women-led enterprises through dedicated industrial parks, reservations and incentives.
“The State Government aims to set up mini-industrial parks for women in 119 assembly constituencies. The goal is to boost entrepreneurship and build women workforce not only in Hyderabad but also in tier-2 and 3 cities, for which they have to be backed with various initiatives supported by the government and industry bodies like CII,” the minister added.
In his keynote address, Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary, Industries, Government of Telangana, spoke about the government’s plan to soon introduce several sectoral policies. He said, “The government is working on rolling out sectoral policies with unique offerings, such as Life Sciences policy, Electric Mobility, Defence and Aerospace policy, among others. Moreover, new industrial parks are being shortlisted across the State and the work is on for creating the land bank.”
He said two initiatives have been undertaken by the government for women entrepreneurs and skill development. “Under Indira Mahila Shakti, women entrepreneurship is being promoted in a big way. The other major initiative is the Young India Skills University led by the government with private sector as anchor, under which four courses have been introduced a week ago. We are collaborating with more private players to make this skilling initiative a success. I appeal to CII Telangana chapter and other industry representatives to participate in all the government initiatives,” the Special Chief Secretary added.
During the day, the Government of Telangana, in collaboration with GlobalLinker, presented the State Industry Awards 2023. Telangana-based businesses, both small and large organisations and startups were recognised for their contribution. The Industry minister presented the awards to 30 enterpises, while 10 companies were recognised with appreciation certificate for their work in their sector.
Followed by which, sessions and panel discussions were held on Integration of human capabilities with advanced technologies, Charting the path to sustainable growth, Case studies on digital technologies integrating AI, Overview of proposed Digital Employment Exchange of Telangana, and Reshaping the supply chain.
Sai D Prasad, Chairman, CII Telangana delivered the welcome address. VS Ram, Convenor, CII Telangana Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 Panel set the context for the event, while special addresses were delivered by Prof Chandan Chowdhury from ISB, Rucha Nanavati, CDTO of Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd Automotive, and Dr BK Das, DG of Electronics and Communication Systems for DRDO. Delegates representing various industries attended the one-day conference.
