Jupally unveils vision to promote Basara temple

Hyderabad: Minister for Tourism Jupally Krishna Rao announced that the Telangana government plans to transform Sri Gnana Saraswathi temple, popularly known as the Basara temple, a significant religious site in South India, into a spiritual tourism hub.
On Wednesday, Jupally Krishna Rao, who oversees the erstwhile Adilabad district, visited the Basara temple located in Nirmal district. Following his visit, he convened a review meeting with officials to discuss the temple's development.
During this meeting, he addressed various aspects, including the temple's revenue, expenditures, annual visitor numbers, and income from donations. The Minister directed that all financial records be maintained electronically on a daily basis, and he emphasised that the district collector should perform regular management assessments to enhance facilities for devotees. "Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has committed to allocating Rs.190 crore for the enhancement of the Basara temple, emphasising the need to improve facilities for devotees in line with the temple's master plan," he said.
