Is Heavy Rain Returning to Hyderabad from August 15?

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area is expected to see a change in rainfall intensity over the next three days, according to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) forecast.
For the 48-hour period from 8:30 a.m. on August 15 to 8:30 a.m. on August 16, light rain is likely in several GHMC zones including Serilingampally, Rajendranagar, Kukatpally, Charminar, and Kapra. The predicted rainfall ranges mostly between 2.5 mm and 15.6 mm, with no widespread heavy rain indicated for this period.
However, for the subsequent 24 hours from 8:30 a.m. on August 16 to 8:30 a.m. on August 17, the forecast shows a significant shift, with moderate rain expected across all GHMC circles. Areas such as Secunderabad, Malkajgiri, Uppal, and Saroornagar, along with western parts including Chandanagar and Gachibowli, are projected to receive higher rainfall, possibly exceeding 15.6 mm in several locations.
The TSDPS maps indicate the initial phase of rainfall to be scattered but expanding to cover the entire metropolitan region by August 16 night.
