IMD Issues Red Alert in Telangana: Which Districts Are at Risk?

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued weather alerts across Telangana, warning of widespread rainfall and thunderstorms on Saturday.
A red alert has been declared for Kamareddy and Medak districts, where very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is forecast.
An orange alert has been issued for Adilabad, Nirmal, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalle, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Hanamkonda, Warangal, Mulugu, Mahabubabad, and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts.
All other districts in the state remain under a yellow alert. The forecast indicates light to moderate rain or thundershowers at most places across Telangana.
The IMD has also warned of isolated heavy to very heavy downpours with the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph are likely in several districts.
