The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Hyderabad on Friday, warning of heavy rainfall across several parts of the city. The forecast indicates intense showers are expected to continue over the weekend.
According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), rainfall distribution will vary across the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) zones. The forecast, valid from 8:30 a.m. on Friday to 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, shows heavy rainfall likely over western and southern parts of the city, including Serilingampally, Rajendranagar, and Hayathnagar. Meanwhile, central and northern zones such as Kukatpally, Secunderabad, and Alwal are predicted to receive lighter rainfall.
By Saturday, rainfall activity is expected to spread across all GHMC zones, with widespread precipitation projected between Saturday and Sunday.
