Hyderabad Weather Update: IMD Issues Yellow Alert, Heavy Rains Expected Till Saturday

Dark clouds loom over Hyderabad as IMD issues a yellow alert for heavy rains, with warnings valid till September 13, 2025.

The atmospheric situation became dark and gloomy over Hyderabad on Thursday morning with the IMD issuing a heavy rainfall warning over the city and over many parts of Telangana.
Yellow Alert for Hyderabad
The Indian Meteorological Department in Hyderabad has put out a yellow alert for this place in view of heavy rain and gusty winds. The alert shall remain in force until Saturday, September 13. Residents have been cautioned to remain careful and make travel plans accordingly.
The forecast also predicts that the sky will mostly remain cloudy with intermittent showers over the next three days.
Orange Alert in Northern Districts of Telangana
Though yellow alert has been put out for Hyderabad, the Indian Meteorological Department has put out a more severe alert for some northern districts, namely:
- Adilabad
- Kumaram Bheem
- Nirmal
- Nizamabad
- Rajanna Sircilla
- Kamareddy
- Medak
- Siddipet
- J. Bhupalpally
- Mahabubabad
Yellow alerts have been given for other districts of Telangana for heavy showers.
Residents Urged to Take Precautions
In cases of heavy rainfall, they advise residents to remain alert with regard to waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and sudden weather changes. According to the IMD advisory, one should avoid all unnecessary travel during peak rainfall hours.
