Hyderabad Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead of Lionel Messi’s Visit; Major Restrictions Near Uppal Stadium

Lionel Messi Arrives in India for Exhibition Match

Argentine football legend Lionel Messi has set foot in India. He arrived in Kolkata at 2:25 am this morning. He arrived with Luis Suarez Rodrigo de Paul. Despite the bone-chilling cold, hundreds of fans gave him a grand welcome at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport here. He took a Brahmarath. He was seen carrying Argentine national flags along the way. This is Messi's first visit to India since 2011.
Messi will visit Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi. He will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He will also meet Chief Ministers of various states, industrialists and Bollywood celebrities. As part of this tour, Messi will arrive in Hyderabad this evening. He will play an exhibition match with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's team. Uppal Stadium is the venue for this. Revanth has been practicing for two weeks to face Messi.
Hyderabad Braces for Messi GOAT Tour as Traffic Advisory Issued
Rachakonda police have issued a key traffic advisory in connection with this match. These traffic restrictions will be in effect from 2 pm today to 11:50 pm. Vehicles have been diverted on the Falaknuma-Uppal (via Santoshnagar) and Secunderabad-Uppal (via Habsiguda) routes. Motorists travelling on this route are advised to use public transport like RTC buses or Metro Rail.
- Vehicles going from Tarnaka towards Uppal will be diverted at Habsiguda Crossroads towards Nacharam, NFC Rotary, IOCL Charlapalli, Ghatkesar. Motorists going from Ramanthapur towards Uppal should take the same route at Street No. 8.
- A total of 10 main parking lots have been prepared for the event. Nine of these are reserved for those coming to watch the match. These parking lots are located within a kilometer of the stadium. One is reserved for VVIPs, the other for VIPs and authorized pass holders. Parking facilities have been provided for them inside the stadium itself.
- Vehicles without passes will not be allowed to cross the Ek Minar and LG Godown check posts. They have been allowed to park their vehicles at Penguin, TGIALA, Little Flower Junior College and Municipal Grounds on the Habsiguda-Uppal route.
- Parking facilities are available at Jain Parking, Sand Adda, Modern Bakery, and Vasu Pharma on the Ramanthapur-Uppal route.
- Visitors coming from LB Nagar should park their vehicles at Jain Parking, Sand Adda, Eenadu Office or Agarwal Parking. Those coming from Habsiguda should park at Penguin, TG IALA, Little Flower Junior College or Municipal Ground.
- Those coming from Ramanthapur can use Jain Parking, Sand Adda, Eenadu Office or Agarwal parking facilities after taking a U-turn at DSL Mall. Those arriving from Uppal Bhagayat should also use these Jain, Sand Adda, Eenadu Office or Agarwal facilities.
- There will be restrictions on the movement of all types of heavy vehicles including lorries, dumpers, earth movers, water tankers, RMC trucks from 12 noon to 11:50 pm. Heavy vehicles from Ghatkesar towards Uppal will be diverted towards Nagole and LB Nagar at the HMDA Uppal Bhagayat entrance.
- Heavy vehicles coming from LB Nagar towards Uppal will be diverted towards Nagole, HMDA Bhagayat, Boduppal, Charlapalli (IOCL) or Ghatkesar at the Nagole Metro Rail Station U-turn.
- Heavy vehicles coming from Warangal to Hyderabad via Uppal should take the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Ghatkesar and proceed via Abdullapurmet, LB Nagar, and Dilsukh Nagar.
- The police have advised heavy vehicles going from Hyderabad towards Warangal via Uppal to take the ORR at Abdullapurmet via LB Nagar and Hayathnagar.
