Hyd Family Seeks Help For Mother On Life Support

A family in Hyderabad is urgently appealing for support to help their mother, Uma, who is fighting for her life after suffering a severe head injury and a heart attack.

On September 17, Uma's son and his wife were devastated when they received the news of her diagnosis. Her condition requires immediate and life-saving ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) support and intensive care. She now needs Rs 40 lakh for her treatment.

Doctors at Citizens Specialty Hospital in Serilingampally, Hyderabad, have advised that Uma's condition requires ECMO, a specialized treatment used for patients suffering from life-threatening heart or lung failure. ECMO temporarily replaces heart and lung function, giving patients a chance to recover when other treatments have failed.

During ECMO treatment, blood is taken from the patient’s body, oxygenated through a machine, and returned, allowing the heart and lungs to rest and heal. The procedure is often a last resort, but the doctors remain hopeful that it could give Uma the opportunity to regain her strength.
