Weather authorities have issued alerts for intense rainfall activity across Telangana, with two consecutive wet spells forecast from July 17 to 28. Several districts, including Hyderabad, are expected to see moderate to heavy rainfall.
From July 17 to 22, thunderstorms and heavy showers are likely across southern, eastern, and central parts of the state. Hyderabad city is included in the impacted zones, with significant rainfall projected.
A second active phase is anticipated between July 23 and 28, driven by back-to-back low-pressure systems. This round will primarily affect northern, eastern, and central Telangana. Cloudy skies and persistent rain are forecast across large swaths of the state. Moderate to heavy rainfall is also predicted in Hyderabad during this period.
Currently, Telangana is facing a 26 per cent rainfall deficit. The GHMC region is further behind, with a shortfall of 56 per cent. The upcoming spells are expected to significantly reduce these gaps. Meteorological projections suggest the rain will improve the overall distribution across marked mandals.
By July 28, weather maps are expected to show a shift from deficit zones to normal to excess rainfall areas. Hyderabad’s accumulated deficit is also expected to reduce substantially by July 27 or 28.
