HC prevents any action based on Ghose panel report

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has instructed that no adverse action should be taken based on the conclusions of the PC Ghose Commission’s report regarding the Kaleshwaram project. A panel of judges, including Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice GM Mohiuddin, inquired with the Advocate General about any actions taken concerning the Commission’s report. The Advocate General informed the court that the government had issued an order to transfer the matter to the CBI for investigation. This decision, however, was influenced by the NDSA report and other available evidence.
The counsel for the petitioners, K Chandrashekhar Rao and T Harish Rao, said the GO refers to the Commission report and that CBI could take action on the findings of the report.
The court, based upon an undertaking of the State government earlier and the matter pending before the court on the legality of the Commission report, directed that no adverse action shall be taken. The issue was scheduled for a hearing after the vacation period, during which the State government was instructed to submit its response to both the main petition and the interim application that requested a stay on the report.
Meanwhile, the Advocate General informed the court that the case will be handed over to the CBI. "No action has been taken so far based on the Kaleshwaram Commission report.
