The Telangana state government has unveiled its holiday calendar for 2026, which includes 27 general holidays and 26 optional holidays for state government offices. The calendar shows that a few of the most significant festivals next year will be on Sundays, thus giving a minor reduction to the number of long holidays.
Employees of the government are given the right to choose from the list of approved optional holidays up to five days, as long as they get prior approval from their respective departments. The general holidays include the major celebrations like Republic Day, Holi, Ugadi, Sri Rama Navami, Bakrid, Vinayaka Chavithi, Vijaya Dashami, and Christmas.
