GMR Airports CIO Is New President Of ACI Asia Pacific

Hyderabad: GMR Airports said its Executive Director and Chief Innovation Officer SGK Kishore has been appointed as the new president of Airport Council International (ACI) Asia Pacific and Middle East (ACI APAC & MID). He succeeds Emmanuel Menanteau, Board Director of Cambodia Airports and Regional Director, VINCI Airports. Kishore will assume charge from January 1, 2025 for a two-year term.
On his new role, SGK Kishore said, “I am honoured to take on the role of President and to continue the work of my predecessor, Emmanuel Menanteau. As we look toward the future, our collective focus will be on driving environmental sustainability, innovation, and ensuring the economic resilience of airports as aviation industry in our region is set for next big phase of growth.”
Congratulating the newly elected President and the members, Emmanuel Menanteau said, “During the last two years we have made significant steps in advancing our key initiatives and strategic priorities, especially with regard to economic and environmental sustainability of airports. I am grateful to our Board for their support, which has allowed us to strengthen our advocacy across the region. As I hand over the leadership to Kishore, I am confident that under his guidance, ACI Asia-Pacific and Middle East will continue to be a powerful advocate for our region’s airports.”
Under Kishore’s leadership ACI Asia-Pacific and Middle East will focus on enhancing regional standards, fostering collaboration among members, and addressing challenges unique to this rapidly expanding aviation landscape, GMR Airports official press release mentioned. ACI Asia-Pacific and Middle East represents the interests of over 600 airports in 47 member countries/territories. In the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region the passenger traffic is estimated to grow from the current 3.4 billion to 9.7 billion by 2042. This region is the largest within Airport Council International (ACI) and also home to top 10 global fastest growing markets. ACI Asia-Pacific and Middle East is headquartered in Hong Kong and has a Middle East office in Riyadh (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).
