Hyderabad airport witnessed a commotion when several passengers reported that they were denied to board IndiGo flight despite their having valid tickets and being in the boarding queue.

The passengers who were affected claimed that people were still standing in the line when boarding was suddenly stopped. It was reported that the staff told them that the gate was closed because of the time issue. The passengers raised their voices asking how boarding could be stopped after tickets were sold and queues were already formed, therefore wanting the staff to reply with the rule that allows for such closures.

On-lookers described that arguments took place at the gate where the passengers' requests for explanations and immediate solutions caused erupting arguments. Some travelers requested for provision of the alternative, others asked for written document that state the reason for not allowing them to board.

According to the passengers, the ground staff said they were not in a position to do anything and suggested that the travelers should go up the hierarchy of authority for the matter to be resolved. It was not reported that assistance on the spot, rebooking, or even clear guidance was provided at the time.
