I have been fighting for the release of subsidies pending for industries from 2014-15. Out of the Rs 3,500 crore subsidy amount, the government has released only Rs 440 crore. As it is not a substantial amount I have requested the Industry minister to release more amount – Suresh Kumar Singhal, FTCCI President

Hyderabad: The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) has sought the State Governments support to allocate alternative land for establishing its new office, as the previous allotted land has been contended in the court, said FTCCI President.

Established in 1917, FTCCI supports the growth of trade, commerce, and industries in Telangana, and engages with the government to represent their members. FTCCI has 3,000 direct members and 25,000 indirect members representing 160 industrial associations.

Suresh Kumar Singhal, President of FTCCI, had lined up a few issues to be taken up with the State government during his tenure, one of which includes getting land allocated for setting up their new office, as they are facing inconvenience at the current location in Red Hills.

“I wanted to accomplish few pending issues during my tenure as the President which hasn’t been realised yet. Government had allotted us 2,000 sq yards at Jubillee Hills. But, the Jubillee Hills Cooperative Society raised an issue in the court. Out of the 2,000 sq yds alloted, we are left with 930 sq yd only. The government has assured to provide an alternative land,” Singhal

told Bizz Buzz. The second demand he had raised with the Industry minister D Sridhar Babu was the release of subsidy amount to industries. Singhal said, “I have been fighting for the release of subsidies pending for industries from 2014-15. Out of the Rs 3,500 crore subsidy amount, the government has released only Rs 440 crore. As it is not a substantial amount I have requested the Industry minister to release

more amount.”

Suresh Kumar Singhal, Managing Director of Vijay Iron Foundry Pvt Ltd, was elected as the President of FTCCI in mid of 2024, for the 2024-25 term.

He was previously the Senior Vice President of FTCCI. Singhal owns diverse businesses, including packaging, steel and paper. He founded India Wrapping Paper Industry, Prompt Packaging Pvt Ltd, Shalini Steels Pvt Ltd, Vijay Iron Foundry Pvt Ltd, Prompt Industries Pvt Ltd, and Prompt Pulp & Fibre Pvt Ltd. Singhal holds a Bachelors Degree in Commerce from the Madras University. He set up his first business in 1981. On a query about the growth trajectory of his businesses, Singhal said, “Steel industry is not doing good right now. Both our facilities are not operational.

Depending on the industry demand we will take a call on it. In this sector, the revenue flow is high when business is good, but when the market is slow we lose crores each month. However, our paper and packaging business is doing good.”

Singhal was a nominated Council Member for Consumer Affairs in the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, for two-years. He is associated with various organisations, including All India Induction Furnace Association, All India Vaish Federation, Agarwal Siksha Samithi, among others.
