Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka urged cement and steel industries in the state to join hands in ensuring the success of the prestigious Indiramma Housing scheme, a massive welfare initiative launched by the people’s government with a noble vision and humanitarian approach. On Tuesday, along with Industries Minister Sridhar Babu, Bhatti Vikramarka held a special meeting with cement and steel industry owners and officials at Dr BR Ambedkar Secretariat.

He said the government has decided to construct 4.50 lakh Indiramma houses with an outlay of Rs22,500 crore, and construction is already progressing swiftly across the state. Telangana has extensively supported cement and steel industries, he noted, and urged them to think with a humanitarian spirit by reducing prices for Indiramma housing.

The Deputy Chief Minister stressed that the same uncompromised quality of cement and steel supplied for high-rise buildings must also be supplied for Indiramma houses.

Minister Sridhar Babu said this welfare scheme for poor families is being implemented in the state after 10 years since the Congress government returned to power.

"All companies, big or small, should supply cement and steel at a uniform price. Telangana is promoting industries on a large scale, with world-renowned companies expanding not only in Hyderabad but across the state. Huge demand for cement and steel will arise in the future, so industries must supply quality products at affordable rates in line with the government’s initiatives," Sridhar Babu said.
