Direct Sellers Vow To Back Govt In Strengthening Monitoring System

Hyderabad: The Association of Direct Selling Entities of India (ADSEI) has assured support to the government in strengthening monitoring mechanism on direct selling that is aimed at enhancing consumer rights and promoting transparency in this sector.

ADSEI recently participated in a meeting chaired by D S Chauhan, Principal Secretary, Consumer Affairs, Food, Civil Supplies and Commissioner of Civil Supplies. This meeting brought together Direct Selling associations and various government departments.

During the meeting, Chauhan mentioned about the contribution of Direct Selling sector while also highlighting the potential benefits that these companies can offer consumers as a result of reduced marketing and advertising expenses.

ADSEI put forward its demand to minimise regulatory burdens on Direct Sellers, stating that the entities are ensuring compliance with all requisite regulations and laws. The industry representatives expressed their hope for a streamlined regulatory environment that fosters entrepreneurship and innovation within the industry.

Dr Sanjeev Kumar, president, ADSEI, said: “We thank Chauhan and the department of Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies for the opportunity to share our views on the monitoring mechanism. We are eager to support the Department in any capacity that benefits all stakeholders.”
