As Cyclone Ditwah moves closer, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are bracing for severe weather conditions. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of potential flash floods in Andhra Pradesh. In light of this, the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has provided crucial updates regarding rainfall expectations in Telangana.
At 8:30 AM on 30 November 2025, Cyclone Ditwah was reported to be located approximately 100 km east-southeast of Cuddalore and 100 km east-northeast of Karaikal. The cyclone is currently around 180 km south-southeast of Puducherry and Chennai, positioned about 70 km off the coast of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The cyclone is expected to continue moving northward parallel to the North Tamil Nadu coast over the next 24 hours, with landfall anticipated within a distance of 30 to 60 km from the coast.
Light to moderate rainfall is expected in isolated areas across multiple districts on Sunday and Monday, particularly in the southern and eastern regions. On Tuesday, similar weather conditions are anticipated to persist in these areas.
There is a significant risk of heavy rainfall in isolated locations throughout some southern and eastern districts on both Sunday and Monday, posing potential hazards to local communities. Residents are urged to remain vigilant as Cyclone Ditwah approaches.
