Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy will release the State’s maiden MSME policy at a special event here on Wednesday. Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Deputy Chief Minister; Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT & Industries; Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary for Industries, and Dr G Malsur, Director of Industries, Telangana, will also be present on the occasion.

The new policy for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the 1st one from Telangana, is likely to focus on research & development (R&D), women entrepreneurs and land allocation norms, among others. The government is also expected to launch a fund for technological upgradation in the key sector.

The Telangana government invited all stakeholders including MSME bodies, entrepreneurs in the MSME space and others for the launch event.

Industrialists are also expecting a positive announcement from the Chief Minister on the long-pending incentives which are totalling around Rs 3.200 crore now. It is widely believed that inordinate delay in payment of incentives is a big dampener for MSME entrepreneurs in Telangana.

The Industries Department of Telangana consulted all the stakeholders including industry bodies, entrepreneurs and industrialists, and gathered inputs before developing the new policy framework. Sridhar Babu also held meetings with various stakeholders before finalising the policy.
