The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have strengthened their team by acquiring Tim Seifert, the dynamic New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter, for ₹1.50 crore at the IPL 2026 auction. Seifert's participation is characterized by his power-hitting and good catching behind the stumps, which makes KKR's line-up more profound and balanced.

Seifert has gained recognition in T20 tournaments around the world, such as the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and New Zealand's domestic T20 leagues. He is a batsman who takes up the fight and can even be a game-changer in the powerplay due to his combination of large hits and clever strike rotation. In addition, his wicketkeeping is an added advantage for KKR because it gives them the freedom to mix and match their overseas and local players.

In past T20 seasons, Seifert has had a strike rate above 140 and has also been their team's finisher. He has gained the know-how of playing international T20 cricket as well as the franchise leagues which makes him a prized possession in KKR’s 2026 IPL fight.
