Shreyas Iyer to Lead India A in Four-Day Series Against Australia A in Lucknow
Shreyas Iyer will lead India A in two four-day matches against Australia A in Lucknow starting September 16, with KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj joining for the second game.
Shreyas Iyer has been named captain of the India A squad for the four-day series against Australia A in Lucknow.
A 15-man India A team has been announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for two four-day matches against Australia A, which will begin on September 16 in Lucknow. Dhruv Jurel is the wicketkeeper and vice-captain, while Shreyas Iyer has been named captain.
Beginning on September 23, senior players Mohammed Siraj and KL Rahul will join the team for the second game, giving them more experience.
Iyer was left off of India's main squad for the 2025 Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates, where he is currently playing for West Zone against Central Zone in the Duleep Trophy semi-final. He is anticipated to have a significant chance to demonstrate his form during the series against Australia A.
The team is made up of both young talent and seasoned players. In addition to Jurel, Abhimanyu Easwaran, N Jagadeesan, Sai Sudharsan, Devdutt Padikkal, and Ayush Badoni are in the batting order. Nitish Kumar Reddy, an all-around player, also makes an appearance.
