Sachin Tendulkar, who holds multiple batting records for India, turns 52 on Thursday, prompting messages from players, fans and fellow sports figures.
On social media, former teammates and international cricketers sent birthday notes to the man known for his run tally in all formats. A fan page dedicated to actor Jr. NTR wrote on X: “Happy Birthday to the greatest human ever to hold a cricket bat. Best wishes from ManOfMassesNTR fans,” adding a series of hashtags linking Tendulkar to decades of cricket history.
Fans also revisited Tendulkar’s appearance at the opening of the first Indian Street Premier League at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. During the ceremony, he joined actor Ram Charan, Tamil star Suriya, Bollywood figure Akshay Kumar and host Boman Irani in a group performance of “Naatu Naatu,” the dance from the film “RRR.” Each celebrity at the event serves as an ISPL team owner: Kumar for Srinagar Ke Veer; Charan for Falcon Risers Hyderabad; Suriya for Chennai; and Tendulkar for Masters 11.
Meanwhile, Tendulkar addressed the terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, in a post on X. “Shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic attacks on innocent people in Pahalgam,” he wrote. “The affected families must be going through an unimaginable ordeal. India and the world stand united with them at this dark hour as we mourn the loss of lives and pray for justice.”
