After a heart-wrenching end to the IPL 2025 season, Punjabi Kings (PKB) have officially released their retention list for another IPL season in 2026. Under Shreyas Iyer's captaincy, the franchise is aiming high on their maiden IPL title following a surprise yet sound campaign last year.
PKB had one of their most successful seasons in franchise history last year, ending the tournament table at the top, with 5 wins happening throughout 17 matches and eventually into the finals, only to lose to six runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore. They managed to uphold absolute consistency and balance the entire time in the tournament.
A Strong Core Retained
Being a side which seems to establish certainty in their core, the Punjab Kings retained almost their complete roster made up of an armada of international superstars and emerging Indian talent. The retained contingent is captained by Shreyas Iyer and they feature a number of players who served well for the team last year, such as Marcus Stoinis, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, PrabhSimran Singh, and Australian fast bowler Xavier Bartlett.
Their royalty from last year with much impact are most unready tyros from IPL 2025 and in a direct or indirect manner, those keeping their visions towards a very far future are Priyansh Arya, Musheer Khan, Suryansh Shedge, and Nehal Wadhera.
