Royal Challengers Bengaluru secure Mangesh Yadav for ₹5.2 crore after a competitive bidding war at the IPL 2026 live auction.

At the IPL 2026 live auction, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) made a huge announcement by purchasing Mangesh Yadav for a whopping ₹5.2 crores after a very intense bidding war. The battle started with RCB making the first bid which was soon countered by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and finally, RCB took home the prize in the high-risk contest.
Before this round, Vicky Ostwal and Mayank Rawat did not receive any bids and went unsold, showing how strictly franchises are focusing on certain skills in the auction this year. Nevertheless, the rising status of Yadav resulted in fierce rivalry since teams were looking to strengthen their squads with powerful Indian players.
Mangesh Yadav has gained a reputation in the domestic circuit for his reliability and his knack for delivering in the clutch, qualities that surely attracted RCB’s scout team. His acquisition not only provides the RCB lineup with more options but also gives it a good mix as the franchise aims to have a stronger squad for IPL 2026.
