The BCCI has released the final list of players for the IPL 2026 auction, scheduled to take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. A total of 350 cricketers will go under the hammer as the league prepares for yet another high-stakes mini-auction in the Middle East—the third consecutive year the event will be held there.
This year, 1,390 players had initially registered, but the list has been trimmed to 350 for the final pool. It includes 240 Indian players and 110 overseas players. Among them are 224 uncapped Indian cricketers, 14 uncapped international players, 16 capped Indians, and 96 capped overseas names.
The 10 IPL teams will compete to fill 77 available slots, including 31 spots reserved for overseas players. As usual, the highest base price category remains ₹2 crore.

Team Retentions Ahead of Auction
Each IPL franchise can build a squad of up to 25 players. Ahead of the 2026 auction:
Punjab Kings (PBKS) have retained the highest number of players – 21.
Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) have retained 20 players each.
With several high-profile names in the ₹75 lakh category and limited slots available, an intense bidding battle is expected when the auction begins in Abu Dhabi.
