IPL 2026 Auction: BCCI Drops 1,005 Applicants, Final List Cut to 350 Players

The BCCI has announced the final list of names for the IPL 2026 auction. Out of a total of 1355 applicants, 1005 were eliminated and 350 were shortlisted. The mega auction will be held on December 16.
The IPL 2026 mega tournament is about to start soon. The mini auction related to this will be held on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. Out of the 1,355 people who applied for the auction, only 350 people have been shortlisted. To this extent, the BCCI has announced the list related to this. In this, the BCCI has unexpectedly removed 1,005 names from the list. It has added the names of 35 new players.
"The auction for 350 players (IPL 2026) will be held in Abu Dhabi on December 16 at 2.30 pm," the BCCI said in an email sent to IPL franchises. The bidding process will start with capped players in the categories of batsmen, all-rounders, wicketkeeper-batsmen, pacers and spin bowlers. The same sequence is likely to happen for uncapped players later.
According to reports, a franchise has requested South African star player Quinton de Kock's name to be included in the list. It is known that de Kock had previously announced his retirement from international cricket and then took his decision back. Recently, he scored a century in the ODI series against Team India at Vizag. However, it has been reported that Quinton de Kock's minimum price in the upcoming auction will be Rs. crore. His price has decreased by 50 percent compared to the last auction. KKR had previously bought him for Rs. 2 crore.
