India vs South Africa, 2nd Test Day 1: Kuldeep Yadav Shines As India Restrict Proteas to 247/6 at Stumps
India vs South Africa 2nd Test Day 1 Highlights: Kuldeep Yadav picked three wickets as India staged a strong comeback to restrict South Africa to 247/6 at stumps in Guwahati.
Kuldeep Yadav celebrates after taking a wicket during Day 1 of the second Test against South Africa in Guwahati.

Team India finished the opening day of the second Test on a strong note as South Africa closed at 247/6, after losing momentum in the final session in Guwahati. The day belonged to Kuldeep Yadav, who delivered a brilliant spell and picked up 3 wickets for 48 runs, helping India wrest control after South Africa’s early dominance.
South Africa, who elected to bat first, appeared well-set at one stage with skipper Temba Bavuma and Tristan Stubbs steadying the innings. However, quick breakthroughs from India changed the course of the day.
South Africa’s Innings: Strong Start, Sudden Collapse
Openers Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickelton gave the visitors a confident start, putting up a solid stand before India’s bowlers found rhythm. Jasprit Bumrah struck first by dismantling Markram’s stumps, bringing India back into the contest.
Bavuma and Stubbs then staged a recovery, rotating the strike well and punishing loose deliveries, with Stubbs even smashing a six off Ravindra Jadeja. Just as South Africa looked set for a big total, India turned the tide.
India’s Fightback Led by Kuldeep & Jadeja
The fall of wickets was initiated by Ravindra Jadeja who got Bavuma caught at the score of 41 with a well-pitched up delivery that was taken expertly by Yashasvi Jaiswal.
After that Kuldeep Yadav was the one who took the limelight, doing so by dispatching Tristan Stubbs for 49 and shortly afterward Wiaan Mulder for 13. His variations in pace and spin caused the South African batting to be consistently uncomfortable.
Mohammed Siraj also contributed to the late explosion of wickets by taking one just before the tea break, he got rid of Tony de Zorzi who was caught by Rishabh Pant outside the off-stump.
At the close of play, Senuran Muthusamy remained unbeaten on 25, with Kyle Verreynne at the crease.
Bowling Summary (India)
Kuldeep Yadav: 3/48
Jasprit Bumrah: 1/38
Mohammed Siraj: 1/59
Ravindra Jadeja: 1 wicket
