February 2026 State of Play Showcases Upcoming PS5 Titles and Big Surprises

Sony Santa Monica shocked fans by shadow-dropping the 2D side-scroller God of War: Sons of Sparta and officially confirming a ground-up remake of the original God of War Greek trilogy.

Some significant surprises from famous series and new PS5 game reveals in The Sony State of Play. However, some of the most anticipated announcements like Marvel's Wolverine was not there.
The presentation was concluded with the surprising Sony PlayStation trailers drop of an God of War Trilogy Remake and the launch of God of War: Sons of Sparta which is a 2D action platformer available now via the PS5.
Here are a many of the biggest captions from moment's State of Play
- A remake of the first God of War trio was blazoned by Santa Monica Studio. The game is said to be in its immaturity period of development. Santa Monica Studio also partnered with Mega Cat Workrooms to publish God of War Sons of Sparta, a 2D side scrolling action- platformer game.
- Ember Lab also gave the PS5 and PC audience a new title called Kena: Scars of Kosmora. Set to release in 2021, the sequel will expand on the world of Kosmora and features larger boss battles.
- Konami has its own channel in Konami's involvement in the State of Play. As part of the event they announced an upcoming Castlevania game, in conjunction together with Motion Twin (developers of Dead Cells). They also unveiled an anime-infused RPG Rev.Noir and the first-ever port of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots as part of MGS Master Collection Vol. 2.
