Dream11 exits as Team India’s title sponsor ahead of Asia Cup 2025 after gaming ban law. BCCI may invite new bids; India could play without a lead sponsor.
Dream11 pulls out as Team India’s title sponsor ahead of Asia Cup 2025 after new gaming law; BCCI to seek fresh bids.

In a major development just weeks before the Asia Cup 2025, fantasy sports giant Dream11 has pulled out as the title sponsor of Team India, sources confirmed.
The move follows the recent passing of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, which bans real-money gaming platforms, including Dream11. Though neither the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) nor Dream11 has issued an official statement, insiders suggest that the sponsorship deal will not continue.
BCCI Reacts
Speaking on the matter, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said the board will strictly adhere to national policies:
“If it’s not permissible, we’ll not do anything. The BCCI will follow every policy framed by the central government.”
The BCCI is now expected to invite fresh bids for jersey sponsorship rights. If no new sponsor is finalized before the Asia Cup begins on September 9, India may play the tournament without a lead sponsor.
Jerseys Already Printed, May Not Be Used
Sources revealed that Asia Cup jerseys with Dream11 branding had already been printed. However, these will not be used at the event following the company’s withdrawal.
Dream11’s Sponsorship Journey
Dream11 had partnered with the BCCI in 2023 under a ₹358 crore deal, paying ₹3 crore per home match and ₹1 crore per away game. The abrupt end of the agreement marks a setback for both the platform and the Indian team’s sponsorship lineup.
