The Telugu Titans put up an impressive display in the third eliminator of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12, overpowering the Patna Pirates, who were high on confidence, by 46-39 at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium on Tuesday night. The win brought the curtain down on the Pirates’ remarkable streak of eight consecutive wins and, at the same time, secured the Titans a place in the second qualifier, where they will meet Puneri Paltan for the right to compete in the grand final.
Bharat Hooda was the star of the night, leading from the front with a phenomenal 23-point performance. On the other side, Patna’s young sensation Ayan Lohchab once again showcased his brilliance, scoring 20 points to become the first raider in PKL history to record six 20+ point games in a single season. Ayan ended the season with a remarkable 316 raid points, 132 more than his previous season’s tally.
The match kicked off with a fast and furious tempo, as both the teams quickly scored points to each other. Even so, Patna was able to gain the upper hand when Navdeep’s tackle on Titans captain Vijay Malik led to the first All Out in just six minutes. Rao was brought into the game more slowly but surely; nonetheless, the leading team had only four points more at 13-9 by the end of the first quarter.
Ayan Lohchab achieved a great milestone as he became the only fifth player in PKL history to reach the 300 raid points mark in a single season. However, the Titans were not IOU easily and they counterattacked with the great defense of Shubham Shinde and Chetan Sahu, inflicting an All Out on the Pirates thus taking the lead at 22-20 during halftime.
Bharat Hooda continued his dominance in the second half, completing his Super 10 early and inflicting a second All Out on the Pirates to stretch the Titans’ lead to double digits. Despite Ayan’s relentless efforts and Navdeep’s fourth High Five of the season, the Pirates struggled to keep up as the Titans’ defense stood firm.
In the closing stages, Bharat completed 200 raid points for the season and sealed the game with a Super Raid, dashing the Pirates’ playoff hopes. The Titans’ all-round effort ensured a thrilling five-point victory and a well-deserved place in Qualifier 2.
The Telugu Titans will now face Puneri Paltan in Qualifier 2 on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, for a chance to reach the PKL Season 12 final. Fans can catch the live action on the Star Sports Network and JioHotstar from 7:30 PM onwards.
