BCCI shifts IPL 2025 playoffs venues; Final moved to Ahmedabad

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced that the IPL 2025 final will now take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3, instead of the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The revised playoff schedule also sees Qualifier 2 staged at Ahmedabad on June 1, while Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will be held at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on May 29 and 30, respectively.
This change follows the resumption of the season on May 17—after a one-week suspension due to heightened India-Pakistan tensions—and comes as part of a re-jigged fixture list agreed upon once both nations declared a ceasefire. According to the BCCI, the IPL Governing Council selected the new venues “keeping in mind the weather conditions and other parameters.”
In addition to venue changes for the playoffs, the BCCI has confirmed that all remaining league matches will include an extra hour in the playing conditions, beginning with Chennai Super Kings versus Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on May 20.
As it stands, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings have secured their spots in the top four. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals will face off in their final league game to determine who joins them in the playoffs.
