BCCI Announces 2024-25 Central Contracts, Iyer, Kishan Return
BCCI reveals 2024-25 contracts. Shreyas Iyer returns to Grade B, Ishan Kishan joins Grade C. New faces include Varun Chakaravarthy, Abhishek Sharma.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India unveiled its roster of centrally contracted men’s players on Monday, retaining the top-tier designations and promoting several names across the Grade B and C brackets.
The A+ tier remains occupied by Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja, marking no changes to the highest level of BCCI central contracts. Their inclusion reflects continued selection priority for the upcoming international season.
Shreyas Iyer, absent from the 2023–24 central contract list, returns in Grade B after leading India’s run tally in the recent Champions Trophy. Iyer amassed 243 runs in five innings during the tournament, and his reinstatement follows a season in which he cited a back complaint and stepped away from red‑ball selection after being omitted from the Test squad post‑England series.
Ishan Kishan, left off the previous contract cycle, has been awarded a Grade C contract. The wicketkeeper‑batsman last held a central deal ahead of the 2023 season and reenters the fold after a series of limited‑overs performances.
Mumbai mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy earns his inaugural central contract in recognition of his Champions Trophy contributions. Joining him at Grade C are Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Abhishek Sharma, each securing their first BCCI central contracts.
