4 Players Sunrisers Hyderabad May Target at the IPL 2026 Auction

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will go to the IPL 2026 mini-auction with a huge sum of ₹25.5 crore and 10 vacant places in their squad. The team has already formed the biggest trade by sending pace bowler Mohammed Shami to Lucknow Super Giants amongst others, besides the release of players like Adam Zampa, Rahul Chahar, Abhinav Manohar, and others.

SRH has a strong backbone and still has some players like Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, Ishan Kishan, Pat Cummins, and Nitish Kumar Reddy who can be termed stars. But, as is the case with the rest of the teams, the franchise will attempt to address two major weaknesses:

Pace depth, especially after Shami’s exit

1. Matheesha Pathirana

SRH are in urgent need of a death-overs specialist after the Shami trade, and Matheesha Pathirana fits the bill perfectly. Known for his sling-arm action and searing yorkers, the Sri Lankan pacer could become SRH’s go-to option in pressure situations.
