It is being followed by the second day on 4th March 2026, and people call it Rangwali Holi or Dhulandi. This is the favorite festival of the children as they play with dry gulaal and watercolours.
According to the English or Gregorian calendar, this festival is notable in the Hindu month of Phalguna. It might fall in the starting or mid-March. Vasanta Purnima 2026 is also celebrated on the same day as Holi.

Vasant Purnima 2026: Significance
One of the most significant days in Hinduism is Purnima. Vasant Purnima also falls on the same day of the Holi festival. It is considered the most auspicious as the devotees of Lord Vishnu observe Satyanarayan Vrat and give prayers to the Lord. This day is supposed to be quite virtuous in terms of the prayers.

The ritual observes the legend of Prahlad and Holika. It represents the victory of devotion and virtue over arrogance and evil powers. In South India, a Holika Dahan ritual is also referred to as Kama Dahanam. In Mathura, Braj Holi traditions are just amazing and lakhs of people take part in the celebration.
