Hyderabad: As the world celebrated World Tourism Day on September 27, Moscow reaffirmed its position as one of the most attractive global destinations, particularly for Indian travellers. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, nearly 18,000 Indians visited the Russian capital — 1.5 times higher than the same period last year — reflecting the growing appeal of Moscow’s cultural, culinary, and wellness offerings. Moscow’s popularity among Indian tourists is supported by direct daily flights on the Delhi–Moscow route, making the journey seamless. The city has also been strengthening its infrastructure, services, and cultural programs to enhance the visitor experience.
This summer, Moscow showcased its deep cultural bond with India through a series of large-scale events. The Festival of India – Bharat Utsav, held at Manezhnaya Square as part of the Summer in Moscow project, introduced visitors to yoga, Hindi lessons, Kathak and Odissi dance forms, Bollywood culture, Indian cuisine, and traditional artistry.
