Properties Belonging to 7 Pak-Based Terrorists in Baramulla

Seven individuals based in Pakistan, alleged to be involved in terrorist activities, recently had their properties attached in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, according to police reports. This action came following an order from the Baramulla’s additional sessions court. The attached properties, comprising 13 Kanals of land valued at lakhs, were identified as belonging to these individuals.

The police took this step against Pakistan terror handlers under various legal provisions, including sections of the Criminal Procedure Code and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. This action stems from their alleged involvement in a case dating back to 2008, which includes charges under the Explosive Substances Act, the Indian Penal Code, and the Arms Act.

The individuals identified in this case are Gh Nabi Alaie, Shabir Ahmad Sofi, Sharief ud din Chopan, Gh Nabi Sheikh, Mohd Rafiq Khan, Gulla Sheikh, and Ab Hameed Parray. The police spokesperson emphasised that these properties were identified during the course of a thorough investigation and inquiry conducted by the police.

In a separate development, the Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully arrested two individuals from Baramulla who had been evading arrest for over three decades. Showkat Ahmad Makhdoomi and Showkat Ahmad Shah, residents of Srinagar, were apprehended by a police team from the Kunzer police station. The arrests were made in connection with cases registered against them in 1998 and 1999 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Arrest warrants issued by the court had been pending against these individuals for years, and they had managed to evade capture until now. Both individuals were produced before the court of JMIC Tangmarg and legal proceedings were initiated against them.
