President Murmu Bestows Padma Awards On Distinguished Achievers

President Droupadi Murmu recently presided over the Padma Awards ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi. These awards are bestowed on the achievers in various fields for their exceptional contributions in journalism, social work, education, literature, and public affairs.

Among the recipients was KS Rajanna, a social worker and State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, who received the Padma Shri for his relentless efforts in supporting differently-abled individuals despite his own physical challenges.

Chami Murmu, another Padma Shri awardee, was lauded for her dedicated community service and environmental activism. She expressed her joy at receiving the award and highlighted the empowerment of women in her tribal community.

In the world of education and literature, Sridhar Makam Krishnamurthy was honoured with the Padma Shri. He graciously dedicated the award to his team and all those involved in shaping the National Education Policy.

Bhagwati Lal Raj Purohit was conferred with the Padma Bhushan for his significant contributions to literature and education. He expressed gratitude towards Indian traditions and the government for acknowledging his work.

Veteran journalist Hormusji N Cama was bestowed with the Padma Bhushan for his remarkable contributions to journalism. Additionally, a posthumous Padma Bhushan was awarded to Satyabrata Mookherjee for his impactful work in public affairs, with the award received by his son.

The Padma Awards serve as a testament to the extraordinary achievements of these individuals, inspiring others to make meaningful contributions to society.
