NTPC, Aakar Asha Hospital to support 150 patients

India’s largest power utility, NTPC Ltd’s Southern Region HQ said it has entered a MoA (Memorandum of Agreement) with Aakar Asha Hospital, as part of its CSR programme, for supporting the reconstructive surgery of 150 patients suffering from physical deformities.

The financial assistance provided by NTPC will be utilised for conducting reconstructive surgeries at their super specialty hospitals based in Hyderabad. Other support includes supply of medicines free of cost during treatment at the hospital, patient care before and after the surgery including food and stay at the hospital for the patients and their attendants, physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

Badruddin Ansari, DGM-HR signed the agreement on behalf of NTPC, and Dr Bharatendu Swain, Director, Aakar Asha Hospital signed it on behalf of Aakar Asha unit in the presence of S N Panigrahi, GM (HR) NTPC SRHQ.

Speaking on the occasion, S N Panigrahi said that health is one of the key areas where NTPC is undertaking various CSR initiatives so as to reach out to poor and needy beneficiaries. Aakar Asha Hospital extended their gratitude to NTPC for taking up the initiative of extending support for reconstructive surgery to poor children, women and other beneficiaries.
