4 food processing units in AP, TG ready for take-off
Aided projects under PMKSY, 3 in Andhra Pradesh and 1 in Telangana, have been completed
Ministry of Food Processing Industries has approved 591 units with grants-in-aid of Rs1,907.45 crore, out of which Rs859.67 cr has been released for creation of processing capacity of 99.89 lakh MT per year
New Delhi: Three projects under the scheme of Creation/Expansion of Food Processing & Preservation Capacities (CEFPPC) of the umbrella programme of Pradhan Mantri KisanSampada Yojana (PMKSY) have been completed in Andhra Pradesh. And one more project has been completed in Telangana.
The cost of the three projects was Rs81.7 crore, of which the approved grant was worth Rs15 crore. Of the approved grant, Rs13.98 crore has been released, official sources told Bizz Buzz. As many as 21 projects are under implementation, they added.
The biggest of the completed projects is at Chittoor by RN Galla Family at the cost of Rs47 crore. While the approved grant was Rs5 crore, the amount released was Rs4.04 crore. It is for fruit and vegetable processing.
The second biggest project, also at Chittor for fruit and vegetable processing, was worth Rs18.16 crore. Set up by Jallan Food Products Agro Drinks, it has received the entire approved amount of Rs5 crore under the CEFPPC Scheme.
The third project, by Shivtara Grains in the Krishna district, is for grain milling. The project, worth Rs16.48 crore, has received Rs4.94 crore of the Rs5-crore grant that was approved for it.
The other Telugu-speaking State, Telangana, also has 24 projects under the under the CEFPPC Scheme, but only one has completed. Promoted by AGP Oils, it is located in Sangareddy for the purpose of oil milling. It is worth Rs26.94 crore, with the approved grant of Rs5, all of which has been handed over to the company. The other 23 projects are under implementation.
Under CEFPPC Scheme, grant-in-aid is given at the rate of 35 per cent to 50 per cent of the eligible project cost, subject to the cap of Rs5 crore.
